Steam Jet Heaters, in-line, are used for both once-through
and circulating heating duties. They can either be employed on a once-through
basis (type L), to raise the temperature of a liquid by up to 95oC
in a single pass, or on circulation systems (type H or system Ciba-Geigy), to
raise the temperature of a circulating stream by up to 30oC per
pass. With a standard-type heater design (type L or type H), turn-downs of 5:1
are the norm., but if a more sophisticated system is required, with much closer
temperature control, with the GEA Steam Jet Heater "System Ciba-Geigy", the
turn-down can be as much as 200:1.
