Liquid Jet Vacuum Pumps, also called eductors, employ a liquid, very often water, as the motive medium, to pull a vacuum. As well as providing vacuum for general duties, these units are also regularly used for evacuating suction lines to prime centifugal pumps, creating siphons, deaeration of pressure vessels, producing a pressure drop across Nutsch type filters and evacuating condensers.
