The Process Control Department is responsible for the
supply of Electrotechnology - Control & Instrumentation
(E-C&I) in connection with processing plants delivered by Niro
A/S, Denmark.
The department is able to supply and commission equipment
within E-C&I for complete production plants. In cases where the customer
wants to supply the E-C&I part himself, the department can supply a basic
engineering package, consisting mainly of various specifications and process
descriptions.
ORGANISATION
The Process Control Department is divided into four sections, serving
seperate functions:
Tendering is responsible for the elaboration of
descriptions and the corresponding calculation, and will often participate in
the ordernegotiations either at Niro or on site.
The task of the HW
Design function is detailed engineering for all enclosures, i.e. switch-boards,
control panels, I/O-boxes etc. Workshop tests are also part of the task.
SW Development is responsible for development and
updating of standard basic modules for process control and operator interface.
Project Engineering is responsible for the order
related planning within the E-C&I supply. Important tasks are project
management, basic engineering, application software coding, functional testing
and commissioning.
COMPETENCE
The competence of the department is thorough knowledge within
ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT
Transformers, main distributions, sub-distributions, motors, variable speed
drives.
INSTRUMENTATION
Measuring tasks, explosion protection.
CONTROL SYSTEMS
PLC and SCADA systems, field buses
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE
- Process control of evaporators, spray drying plants, fluid-bed plants,
extraction plants and CIP systems
- IEC standards
- EU directives and EN norms
- GAMP Guide
- Safety aspects
IN-HOUSE CONTRA EXTERNAL DISCIPLINES
The following disciplines are carried out by the department's own staff:
Sales support, project management, basic and detailed engineering, SW
coding, test and commissioning.
The external main disciplines carried
out by sub-suppliers are: Panel construction, on-site equipment installation
and cabling.
TOOLS
The department uses the following engineering tools:
CAD/CAE:
AutoCad M2000i / EPLAN 5.30
DESCRIPTIONS ETC.:
Various MS-Office Programmes
HW SUPPLY MANUFACTURES
In
addition to the specific process and environmental requirements related to the
equipment, great importance is attached to the products being tested and the
suppliers in question being represented world-wide.
Special
requirements set by the customer can normally be met.
SW SUPPLY
MANUFACTURES
The Process Control Concept is based upon a PLC/PC
solution of recognised major suppliers of software. The Process visualisation
(HMI) software is InTouch from Wonderware running under Windows NT operating
system. The HMI is linked to a Siemens, Allen-Bradley or Mitsubishi PLC
system.
PROCESS CONTROL SYSTEM, STANDARD SET-UP
The number of HMI stations and PLC depends on the requirements of the
controlled system, the location and the operating conditions. The various HMI
stations are linked to the PLC's via an Ethernet or Profibus DP net.
