Application: Test work to obtain operational data and basis for design of industrial size plants of this type. (Test material must be delivered in big-bags holding max. 500 kg.)
Capacity: The typical capacity is 150-500 kg feed/h and the minimum feed requirement is approx. 2000 kg.
Specification: Dry feed is supplied to the HEC
TM by means of a weighbelt. Granulation liquid (up to 3 different kinds) is supplied to the two-fluid nozzles by means of a Mono pump.
The wet granules fall into a 2.5 m
2 VIBRO-FLUIDIZER
TM for drying/fines removal. At the discharge from the VIBRO-FLUIDIZER
TM , a screen classifies the product.
The drying air, up to 4000 kg/h, is heated electrically (max. temperature approx. 200°C) or with propane gas (max. temperature approx. 250°C).
The elutriated fines are collected in a cyclone and together with the undersize from the sieve they can optionally be returned as feed to the HEC
TM .
For final cleaning the outlet air passes a bag filter or a venturi scrubber.
GEA Niro's continuous high shear granulator (HEC
TM ) has been designed to meet industry requirements for converting dusty, light powders into high density, free-flowing granulates and provides a low cost solution to upgrade the quality of a product without the need to shut down existing production plant.
HEC
TM plants are designed for continuous operation. The powder is mechanically fluidized and simultaneously wetted with liquid under controlled conditions that lead to uniform granule growth.
The HEC
TM pilot plant provides exact product characteristics, such as bulk density, granule size, particle size distribution, moisture content and mechanical stability.
