The Nozzle ™ produces free-flowing, dustless
powders consisting of coarse, individual beads.
In this co-current parallel flow dryer with a
top mounted nozzle atomization system the coarse spray droplets are dried
slowly while gently falling down the long residence time tower-like chamber.
The dried particles are seperated by gravity in the enlarged conical section
into a coarser main fraction and fines collected from the exhaust air.
The coarse fraction can be cooled by air introduced into the lower part
of the cone, or further dried or cooled in a vibrating fluid-bed.
The
fines can be recycled to the atomization zone for incorporation by
agglomeration, or to the liquid feed.
