Steam Jet Heaters "series 80" are installed in-tank, to
inject steam directly into the stored liquor, principally to heat the contents
or to strip away contaminants. However, owing to the fact that they employ
steam as the motive medium, to create a vacuum and entrain the tank contents
through side ports, they also have the advantage of turning over the tank
contents, thus achieving a uniform temperature throughout the tank. They are
principally more effective than simple direct steam injection, via sparge
pipes, for example.
