Liquid Jet Ventilators,
also called inductors, employ a liquid, very often a scrubbing liquor, as the
motive medium to entrain air or another gas. There is a small pressure gain
across the unit, but their main duty is to convey/entrain large volumes of gas.
They are employed to draw air from ventilation hoods or work areas, or as
pre-ejectors for packed scrubbers, performing part of that scrubbing duty and
also meaning that a mechanical fan may not be required.
